Comedian Jason Manford visited Strike Padel on Beckside Road to teach padel to around 30 children from Bingley Grammar School and Hanson Academy. The event was part of Manford’s mission through the Jason Manford Academy to introduce one million kids to padel, ensuring the sport remains accessible to children from all backgrounds rather than becoming elitist. Strike Padel has been offering free court time during the day to encourage young people across Bradford to experience the fast-growing sport.
Strike Padel to Host Inaugural Legends Padel 4 Nations Tournament

“It’s going to be fast-paced. You’re going to see top level players there so it’s the best of the best in that age group, showcasing their skills and ability,” said Fahad Qureshi, co-founder of Strike Padel. “Encouraging people to come and watch that will encourage people to get into the sport. It’s promotion for Bradford, it’s also promotion for the sport as well.”
Strike Padel has been selected to host the inaugural Legends Padel 4 Nations tournament on November 27-28, bringing together the top Super Senior players (60+, 65+ and 70+) from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England. The two-day event, sponsored by Joma and Pokita, will feature separate men’s and women’s competitions with each nation fielding three pairs across the age categories. The tournament will be open to the public, with plenty of viewing space in the social area to watch Britain’s best senior padel players compete for their countries.

The awards ceremony will take place at The Broadway Bradford on Sunday, November 9, celebrating the very best of Bradford’s retail, leisure and hospitality sector. “The fastest-growing sport in the world” is coming to Bradford following planning approval for Strike Padel’s new leisure facility at Beckside Business Park.
Founded by Fahad Qureshi, Strike Padel received planning permission from Bradford Council to convert a unit into a five-court padel centre with 13 parking spaces. Planning officers noted that while the site is in an employment zone, the sports facility would create jobs and complement existing leisure businesses in the area. The approval marks a significant milestone as Strike Padel becomes Bradford’s first dedicated padel centre, bringing the rapidly growing racquet sport—popularized by celebrities like David Beckham—to the heart of the city.
